Do the French voices handle accents and ligatures correctly?
Yes. Marc and Soleil pronounce all French diacritics correctly: acute (é), grave (è), circumflex (ê), diaeresis (ë), cedilla (ç), and the à/ù graves. French quotation marks (« ») and the ligature œ are also handled.
Can I use French TTS for a Quebec audience?
MAI Voice 2 ships only Metropolitan French voices. For Quebecois or other regional French, switch to the Gemini multilingual model and write in the regional vocabulary. Gemini approximates the accent based on the input text.
Which French voice should I use for an audiobook?
Either works. Marc reads slightly more authoritative, good for nonfiction. Soleil reads warmer, good for fiction and memoir. Both support the full eighteen MAI expressive styles so you can shift tone per scene.
