How the free transcription tool works
Upload a clip of up to 30 seconds and click Transcribe. The audio is sent to OpenAI Whisper, which returns the spoken text in a few seconds. Nothing is installed, no account is needed, and the audio is processed in memory and discarded as soon as the transcript is returned — nothing is kept on a server.
The free plan on tts.audio adds 10 minutes of transcription every month with no card required, plus 10,000 characters of text-to-speech. Paid plans raise both limits: Pro gives 100 minutes for $0.13 a day, Creator gives 500 minutes for $0.63 a day, and Studio gives 2,000 minutes with priority processing for $2.63 a day. Every paid plan includes commercial usage rights.

Do I need to create an account to transcribe audio?
No. Upload a clip on this page and click Transcribe. The text appears in your browser in seconds. Sign-up is only required for clips longer than 30 seconds, transcripts history, or higher monthly volume.
What languages does the transcription support?
tts.audio runs OpenAI Whisper, which handles 90+ languages with strong accuracy on clear speech. Upload your clip and Whisper auto-detects the spoken language. For best results on accented or noisy audio, sign up and pass an explicit language hint from the studio.
What audio formats can I transcribe?
The free tool accepts mp3, wav, m4a, webm, ogg, oga, flac, and aac. Keep clips under 2MB and 30 seconds. Sign up free to transcribe longer clips up to the 10MB server limit on the studio transcription page.
Are my uploads stored?
No. On this free page and in the studio, audio bytes are processed in memory and discarded once transcription completes — they are never written to storage. Transcripts in the studio are removed after 24 hours. Nothing is kept or reused.
